Sylvia Pippen

"I live on the Big Island of Hawaii surrounded by the azure Pacific ocean and a garden full of exuberant tropical fruit and flowers. Inspiration abounds right out the door of my studio. I have been a gardener most of my life and quilting is an extension of my passion for plants. I am compelled to make quilts that reflect the beauty and diversity of the islands."

  May 11th ~ Sandy Bosley

  Landscape Quilting

Sandy incorporates her love for landscapes into quilts. She begins by photographing natural outdoor scenes. She manipulates (blends, cuts, enlarges, etc.) the photos to construct a suitable scene then drafts a drawing of the photo and traces it onto background fabric. Sandy spends a considerable amount of time combining fabric colors to achieve her ideal landscape. Sandy's landscape quilts chronicle her memories and personal history.

Sally Collins

"Sally Collins is an award-winning quiltmaker, teacher and author who has been quilting since 1978 and teaching since 1985. Her quilts range in size from small to wall size and although she is most recognized for her quality workmanship, attention to detail and teaching expertise, her continual love and interest is in the process of quiltmaking, the journey. Her focus for classes is on quality workmanship, borders and edges or drafting. All classes are developed to help students advance and improve their own creative and technical skills as well as how to critique and correct their own work."

Pieced Baskets

This class will focus on precision sewing, quality workmanship and multiple half-square triangle techniques to create a lovely basket block in two different sizes (1-7/8” and 3-1/8”). Students can choose either one or both sizes, depending on their skill level. Class time is spent between lecture, explanation, demonstration and student sewing time. A handout for the project is included. Skill Level: Very Confident Beginner and Beyond.

Peggy Martin

Peggy Martin

Peggy Martin began quilting in 1981, piecing and quilting everything by hand. A few years later, when quicker methods were being discovered, she became hooked on finding faster, easier ways to make quilts. When she began teaching in 1985, she continued to develop more streamlined, fast, fun methods of working. She enjoys expanding on traditional quilts with new variations and color-play. Her favorite quilts are those which are fast, easy to piece, and offer many design possibilities.

Palm Leaf

This simple traditional block has many different design options. Use it alone in a variety of settings, as borders, or set other 12" blocks on point with Palm Leaf triangles in the corners. Palm Leaf units also make great borders. To see the supply list click on the underlined link to the right:  Palm Leaf Supply List
