PIF Block Project - Paying It Forward
Instead of a traditional Block of the Month project where all donated blocks are raffled off each month to one member, PIF blocks are donated in response to a particular challenge. There are usually 3-4 challenges each year. Each block made earns 1 raffle ticket and 4 coordinating blocks made earn 5 tickets. A raffle is held at the end of each challenge period. The number of raffle prizes is determined by the number of completed quilt tops made from the donated blocks. The completed quilt tops are then donated to the L.A.Veteran's Quilt Project, where they are completed and made available to our returning vets. Thus, PIF Blocks are Paying It Forward Blocks and are parts of the Guild's Philanthropy efforts. PIF Blockers donated 9 quilt tops in 2010, 8 quilt tops in 2011, and we have 3 tops so far in 2012. One quilt top a month is our goal this year. Suggestions for challenges are always welcome! For more information contact PIF Block Coordinator, Analee Perica (Click on underlined name to the left)
